Chris Cafe is a great place to go to relax with your friends or family when you want to get away from the noise and craziness of the city. It’s maybe not as “sophisticated” as a resto in Ubud, Seminyak or Canggu, but it’s a beautiful little spot tucked away in an authentic Balinese village, surrounded by the sounds of “birds” instead of “cars.” They have a small pool with about 8 lounge chairs + a charming little bar serving cappuccinos, wine, beer and great cocktails + some delicious western and Balinese home cooking which you can enjoy in seating areas scattered around the grounds. We’ll definitely visit Chris’ again when we return to Bali and are looking to spend to some quiet time away from the crowds. A real hidden gem.

Love the chill vibe of this place - so relaxing. After weeks of running around in Bail, this noise-free place in rural Bangli was just what I needed to put my soul at rest. The barista makes awesome coffees, the spaghetti is the best in Bali, the staff is so so so friendly, and the bartender is JUST ADORABLE! I’m definitely going back soon!!!

Chris’ Café doesn’t feel like a business. It feels more like you’re visiting your family at their peaceful place in the hills. I went to Chris’ to relax by the pool and be by myself, but I ended up spending most of the afternoon in conversation with the friendly staff who seemed to exist just for me!!! Thank you guys, you’re the best. I’ll be back soon for another great margarita!

Amazing if you are looking for some peace and quiet. A nice (but small) pool, great service, the best Cafe Lattes, generous drinks, and excellent food portions. The Manager also knows the area so well and gives the best advice about the local area. Top pool bar, top guy, top vibes. ❤

Had a wonderful time at Chris Cafe. The place is awesome and the staff make is even better!!!!! Me and my college friends met up in Bali for a reunion and we were looking for a quiet place to chill out and talk the night away. Luckily we had a very informative and well-connected driver who took us straight to Chris Cafe and we couldn’t have been happier. We spent the entire night in a quiet village environment, swimming under the moonlight and enjoying hours of conversation, all while being served by a sweet and humble staff that you would never find in the city. BTW, the Cafe also has 5 very nice guest rooms available, so most of us slept the night at Chris’ before returning to Ubud the next morning. So happy we found this place. Hope to return next year on our next visit to Bali. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏

My favourite place in East Bali. When I travel I’m always looking to get off the tourist trail and discover secret places to call my own. When I was on my way to Kintamani, I saw a sign for Chris Cafe and decided to check it out. When I turned off the main road, I drove through a very humble Balinese village so I wasn’t expecting much. But when I got to the end of the village, I came to a gate which opened into Chris’ beautiful property (what a shock). The food, coffee and cocktails were just as good as any place in Ubud, but the friendly service was far better than you could ever find in the city. I highly recommend this place to anyone travelling up the east side of the island.

Love the quiet setting, the crowing roosters, and the sound of gamelan coming from the village. If you’re wanting to have a meal and drinks in a place that feels like you’re relaxing at home, I would suggest you stop a Chris Cafe. I recommend the Fish and Chips, hot Caffe Latte and Gin Fizz Cocktail.

A perfect place to grab a quick bite-to-eat and have a swim if you want. So quiet and relaxing, it almost feels like your own private villa in the country. There’s a little bar-gazebo by the pool and a barbeque next to that. The super-friendly owner grilled us up some delicious hamburgers and hot dogs on the barbeque and taught us much about life in Bali as we drank beers by the pool. Our visit was supposed to be a quick stop on the way to Lovina, but it turned into a 4-hour stay and we left feeling like we had made some new friends. I highly recommend Chris’ to anyone looking for a little rest and relaxation.
